I've just finished edits for Sibel Hodge (It's a Catastrophe!) and Rex Jameson (Hallow's Ween).

I'm currently working on a non-fiction book by Victorine Lieske.

Paula is working on a copy edit for Curtis Hox.

Next week I start on a historical fiction by N. Gemini-Sasson.

Editing Schedule

I'm currently working on a literary edit of The Legend of Vanx Malic (Book 1 -- Through the Wildwood) by M.R. Mathias.

Next up is a copy edit of the fourth Paladins book by David Dalglish, and then I have commissions from Sibel Hodge and Rex Jameson.

I was born and educated in the South of England. I qualified as a Registered Mental Health Nurse in 1992 and then went on to read Drama, Classics and Medieval History at the University of Wales, achieving an honours degree.

I read Theological Studies (MA) and undertook Doctoral research on Antonin Artaud and the Theatre of Cruelty at UWA.

Editing Services

Fees:

Payment should be made either by direct bank transfer (details on request) or via Paypal to derekpprior@gmail.com (please add 3.9% to cover PayPal fees). I will invoice you for 50% at the start of the edit and the remainder at completion, before I send the edited manuscript.

Developmental Edit: $0.034 per word

Focuses on plot, characterization, style, pace, narrative voice, continuity and structure. Note: This does not include corrections to spelling or grammar. You will be provided with detailed notes in the margins of the text and a summary. Typically take 4-6 weeks.

Copy Edit: $0.028 per word

Line by line scrutiny of grammar, spelling, repetition, word choice, capitalization, continuity etc. Issues such as dangling participles, comma splices, split infinitives will be highlighted, and suggestions will be offered for corrections. Typically take 4-6 weeks.

Proof Read: $0.024 per word

Prior to using this service, your manuscript should have been professionally copy-edited as proofreading is concerned with picking up any human errors that may have crept in during the editing/revising process, as well as ensuring stylistic consistency. No developmental issues are looked at during the proofread.
