Busy, busy, busy!

I've recently worked on edits for Valmore Daniels. Mitchell Hogan, and M.R. Mathias:

Valmore Daniels:

Seed of Creation -- the excellent start to The MoonWar Cycle, and possibly his best book to date. It's good to see Valmore return to SF. Seed of Creation is tightly structured, fast paced, and very engaging.

I also provided a copy edit for an older work aimed at children, due to be released under a new title.

Mitchell Hogan:

First off, I provided a number of rounds of editing for Mitchell's foray into SF, Inquisitor, an accomplished novel that manages to be fast-paced while displaying Mitchell's trademark world building skills.

I was also involved with final edits for the revised Blood of Innocents, and for the yet-to-be-released conclusion to the Sorcery Ascendant Sequence: A Shattered Empire.

M.R. Mathias:

I've just finished a literary edit for Paragon Dracus, the latest installment of The Legend of Vanx Malic series.

OTHER NEWS

While working on the above, I've managed to finish my own Return of the Dwarf Lords (Legends of the Nameless Dwarf book 4), and have written approximately half of Legends of the Nameless Dwarf book 1: Carnifex. I've also started work on book 2: Nameless. Book 3 is already written (currently The Complete Chronicles, but to be re-released as Bane of the Lich Lord). There are seven books planned in all.

I've now signed with Fuse Literary to represent the books, so I'm working flat out to get the first four books ready in the next few months.

EDITING SERVICES

To make sure I reach my deadlines, I'm having to close to editing commissions for the time being. The good news is, Quills2keyboards editing services has agreed to consider all referrals from this site. I've worked with Paula on a number of commissions, and she's also edited two of my novels, and provided content feedback on virtually all of them. She's one of the most diligent and knowledgable editors I've worked with, and if you're a new writer, her First Draft Triage service is about the best thing I've seen.

Angel's Breath by Valmore Daniels

Here's a new release from Valmore Daniels. I did a copy edit for this book, second in the series, earlier in the month.

My name is Richard Riley. All I ever wanted was to lead a normal life.

When I was younger, I made some bad choices that ended with me in prison. I served my time, and now I am trying to put my life back together.

But someone has framed me for a crime I didn't commit. They want me dead, and they're willing to kill my friends and family to get to me.

Even as I try to save the people I love, a dark and ancient power grows inside me. I can feel its anger rising.

If it gets away from me, it will rip everything in my life apart.

Music of the Spheres

Valmore Daniels has implemented the revisions to Music of the Spheres and looks ready to release it. This is the second book of The Interstellar Age (following on from Forbidden the Stars). I had a lot of fun working on this one; the style is reminiscent of the golden age of science fiction, but with an added depth of characterisation (something Valmore just keeps getting better and better at, I think, since the excellent Angel Fire). Watch out for the gripping ending, which sets up what's going to be a compelling third book.

THE SECRET IN THE STARS
The technology for interstellar flight exists through the power of Kinemet, but the key to unlocking its code lies in a thousand-year-old scroll left on Earth by an alien species.
When the ancient manual is stolen before a full translation is completed, Alex, Michael and Justine scramble to recover it.
Along the way, they stumble on an interplanetary conspiracy and uncover a secret that shatters their view of life and shakes the very foundations of our existence.

Editing Update

I've just finished a copy edit for Sibel Hodge's The Baby Trap, and a literary edit for the third book in M.R. Mathias's Dragoneers series. The Confliction follows on from events in Cold Hearted Son of a Witch and features Mathias's trade mark humour, grit, and fast-paced story-telling.

Next up is Music of the Spheres, the sequel to Valmore Daniels' Forbidden the Stars.
